July User Report

August 6, 2026

I have good news and bad news: which do you want to hear first?

  • The bad news is hard to ignore: after 3 months of rapidly expanding new users driven largely by NYCA, we saw new users drop by more than half to 124 in July per the admin dashboard. Still above the pre-NYCA baseline but a significant slowdown. Is this a summer lull? Related to fewer public webinars and announcements? Or an inevitable deceleration as time passes since the relaunch? Time will tell…
  • The good news is subtle but exciting: it appears that the % of folks that move from the buildings landing page to customizing scopes has grown from about 6% to about 8% between June and July. We’re just beginning to have Momentum instrumented, with funnels in Posthog to enable to us to track metrics like this, so this could be within the noise. But it’s hard for me not be encouraged since this is the first month with at least a bit of time with our new building lobby - a major change in how users encounter building information in the app. Maybe the most encouraging part is that we’re starting to track this stuff - big shout out to Francois, Ilayda, Chuck for really kicking off this user tracking journey.

Check out the full monthly user report for more details.

  • Unique Buildings: 22,346 (Real time, via Admin panel!)
  • Annual Run Rate: $3.5M
  • Lots of spec work for upcoming features. It’s exciting to think about the new stuff coming, and how we can track their impact better with posthog. (JMB)
  • NYCA interview and Momentum demo with Skylight Magazine. (JIB)
