Discord Onboarding

Discord is our primary communication platform. This guide will help you get set up and find your way around.

You’ll receive a Discord invite link during your first day. If you don’t have a Discord account yet, create one at discord.com.

After joining, you’ll receive a DM from Cadence Admin Bot with a verification link. Click the link and sign in with your @c15.io Google account to get the Staff role.

If you don’t receive the DM (some users have DMs disabled), ask someone to send you the verification link directly.

Be visible. In a remote company, presence matters. Participate in discussions, react to messages, and share your work.

Ask in public. Post questions in channels rather than DMs when possible. Others may have the same question, and answers become searchable.

Use threads. Keep conversations organized by replying in threads, especially in busy channels.

Set your status. Update your Discord status when you’re away, in focus mode, or unavailable.

Check announcements. Important company news goes to #everyone. Keep an eye on it.

#cowork-here channel is for you if you’d like to have more a more synchronous remote experiende or want body-doubling. Hop in and bring your playlist.

These include:

Channel Purpose
#daily-ping Daily standups - share what you’re working on
#everyone Company-wide announcements
#ask-anything no question is too small

All staff have access to all channels except for the HR and Strategy Team private channels. You’ll find that you’ll spend most of your time in your team’s dedicated category.

We use Voicemaster for on-demand voice channels:

  1. Join the Create Channel voice channel
  2. A private channel is automatically created for you
  3. You’re the owner with full control
  4. The channel deletes when everyone leaves

Use /voice commands or the interface buttons to:

  • Lock/unlock the channel
  • Set a user limit
  • Rename the channel
  • Allow/block specific users

We use Discmeet for AI transcription:

  1. Start or join a voice call
  2. Type /record to invite the bot
  3. Discmeet joins and transcribes in real-time
  4. Get a searchable transcript after the call

Use this for important meetings where you want notes without manual note-taking.
