2025 Year in Review

December 18, 2025

It’s time to look back at what we accomplished and what challenged us in 2025 – a tremendous year, from a (largely unexpected) initial set-back to doubling our booked revenue in 1 year!

Federal Funding Pulled in Feb Lee Zeldin announced taking back Climate United GGRF money, and later, CPC’s Climate Friendly Homes Fund capped at $150M instead of $250M. Major revenue opportunities lost to forces completely outside our control.

  1. NYC Accelerator Contract Win - Awarded the $4M contract to become NYC’s official platform for building decarbonization. The biggest deal in company history (so far!).
  2. HPD $400K Contract - NYC’s Housing Preservation & Development (nation’s largest municipal housing agency) signs 2-year subscription starting Jan 2026.
  3. NYSERDA Building Data Platform - $200K/year contract making Cadence the official building data platform for NY State.
  4. Crossed 10,000 Buildings (Sept) - Hit 10,857 unique buildings on platform, a major traction milestone.
  5. SOC 2 Type II Certification - Achieved and renewed security compliance; 2nd round super smooth.
  6. Product Improvements Lots new, visible and invisible, from new UI to god component to data supermarket.
  7. Turned 4 / Survived the Valley (Nov) - In the top half of startup survival rates; extended runway to 15 months while growing.
  8. Jon Braman Joins (Sept) - Brought on 18-year BrightPower veteran to lead customer & industry relations.
  9. Freemium Launch (Nov) - Quietly crossed into self-serve territory to expand market reach and gather user insights.
  1. Launch of NYC Accelerator will be a BIG DEAL! It’s going to be exciting!
  2. “Will We Win Their Fingers?” - The question of the year! We won minds and wallets, but users still expect consultant-style service. Related needed extensive hand-holding outside Momentum. We must find out in 2026!
