• Big Rel 99! Mostly behind feature flags, but it had a lot of stuff it in that will soon be turned on for users (JB) and a last minute scramble to get to the bottom of demo’s flakiness allowed Jason to show off our hard work to ConEd. (FH)
• Release 99 also unblocked the creation in production of buildings and their co-development for the L+M project - we’re on track for the next deadline! (FH)
• ConEd liked the project walkthrough and is thinking about other ways to leverage Momentum to help their program (JB)
• Naina’s AI document scraper work is coming along nicely! (JB)
• Although we’re not actively fundraising, the funder meetings low-key continue, especially with folks like Schmidt. I met their new impact investor (formerly SaaS private equity) and it was gratifying to get a positive reaction! (BJ)
• The down-side of pushing out a lot of AI-coded features is that there is A LOT to test and tweak. We need more attention to testing during development (BJ)
• I really think this Clean Architecture thing is the way to go, and I’m glad to hear that it’s what Maks and Jeremy have wanted all along, and that Chuck is into it also! (BJ)

• Growing the team: the NYCA news further raises the priority of onboarding the right talent to help us deliver quickly from data processing to front-end. We’re making progress identifying places where we need the most help, Reuben is starting to circulate possible interview focus and candidates - but are we ready to welcome new folks and help them be productive?

• One-to-many: the L+M project is a one-off analysis under a tight deadline. If we play it well, we will have built a lot of re-usable functionality that should benefit the rest of our customers too (measures, address matching inclusive of development, reporting)… but if we don’t, we’ll have accumulated more throwaway code dedicated to a single-use case. Update - we’re getting new measures, progress on development handling, an updated address search, and a proof-of-concept linkback to Momentum from this work so far.

Bomee’s List

• Planning for growth on the team We’re going to need more hands on deck soon. What will it take for them to land on their feet and start running?
• Over-all architecture What’s in the application, what are back-end services? How quickly should we start pursuing the Clean Architecture path?
• Getting Marc a product he can sell Program-Projects for KC3/ConEd pilot - important to deliver for ConEd as success now will lead to more opportunities!
• Team dynamics We’re still gelling and learning to get comfortable with horizontal practices, including the idea of healthy conflict and restorative conversations.
• Cash. We have a net burn that we need to minimize. With new revenue on the horizon, now is the time to invest wisely without over-extending.
• NYCA and ConEd Recompete – Waiting for contracts!
• Political and economic uncertainty in the US, including NYC elections.

Erika’s List

• Growing the team This requires conversation amongst the team leads post mid-year hiring budget review, about who to hire and when. In addition thinking ahead about resources and needs that could support a search such as salary comps, where we can post, communities to engage with, etc. so we have a high quality pipeline of diverse candidates.
• Hiring Process Along with growing the team, thinking about how we interview and how we could screen for things that are important to a new hire being successful in the company. Also thinking about how we will manage onboarding new folks, logistically. One hire is a lot of work, what about when there are multiple hires within a short time frame?
• Employee Wellbeing We’re all working hard and doing some excellent work but think it’s time to check in with folks to see if how you are working, is working for you and that you feel you are showing up as your best.

• Generate the final analysis spreadsheet for L+M, inclusive of links to bring users back to the auto-generated scopes in Momentum.

• François will follow-up with Mathieu (Laravel France) for possible collaboration opportunities.

• While Jason is out, I’m getting the SAFE prototype v0 slapped together! (BJ)

• Look out for 1:1 invites for work-life check-ins. I’ll be having two-three conversations a week over the next three weeks. (EP)

Upcoming Release

Release 99.1

We’ll be doing a fast-follow release to enable us to turn on the feature flag for team-scoped buildings and collections. We’ll be turning this on for L+M first, and it’s going to be helpful for all our teams with multiple users – this means that when a user creates a collection or adds buildings, their colleagues will be able to see these without having to manually add the same buildings. It’s really how Team-Buildings were meant to work, and we’re finally crossing the Ts and dotting the Is on it!

Release 100!!!

We’re going to make a little bit of a big deal for th big 100. It’s a totally arbitrary number – because when did we even start counting? But it’s a nice round number nonetheless, and a good excuse to talk about the “public” release of Projects!

Generic Project has been a long-awaited, and it will feel really good to be able to celebrate it!

Jason and Erika will take the lead on messaging, and I hope everyone will pitch in to amplify!
